RNC promote AHVITED at Sight Village
In July the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) was one of the
biggest exhibitors at the annual Sight Village exhibition in Birmingham, UK.
Sight Village is the premier European event showcasing technology, support
and services for people who are blind or visually impaired, with commercial
and voluntary organisations from around the world taking part.
RNC host the 6th transnational meeting of AHVITED
The 6th transnational meeting took place at RNC on 18th and 19th June 2009. As this was the final meeting of the project the main objective was for the partnership to review the project outcomes against the contracual obligations.
22-24 April 2009, Trento (Italy)
Monica Coppi and Sara Ligorati from e-LIVE participated to the 2009 DIDAMATICA Conference, at the University of Trento. The conference is one of the most important events in Italy in the field of e-learning, and had a special session on accessibility issues. It was a very important occasion for spreading news about the upcoming results of AHVITED; many contacts have been collected for future dissemination activities.

New software presentation
A presentation of the new software was held in the LKH-Graz area on the 14th of April, where a LKH-consortium had the possibility to get to know the new system.
T3 presentation in LKH-Graz on the 9th April 2009
BFI-Steiermark presented the German speaking version of the T3 to their project partners from LKH-Graz, Mr. Joachim Sachornig and Tanja Greimel.
Next trans-national meeting - December 2008
Over the last two years, the AHVITED project group have held a series of transnational meetings within member countries. The first was in Hereford, whilst subsequent meetings were held in Copenhagen Denmark, Graz Austria and another additional meeting in Hereford UK.
The next AHVITED transnational meeting is going to take place in Dublin between the dates of 1st and 3rd December 2008. Project members will come together to discuss and measure the projects progress, talk about various work issues and to set the agenda for the next nine months of the project.
AHVITED at the E-learning & Accessibility Conference in Pavia (Italy) - September 2008
The Aula Magna of the University of Pavia on 11th September 2008 hosted the international conference 'E-learning and Accessibility', dedicated to e-learning for visually impaired users.
The event was an important occasion for spreading news about AHVITED project.
Representatives from important Italian institutions, such as the President of the Associazione Nazionale Sub-vedenti, as well the University's Rector participated to the conference. From the AHVITED project, Monica Coppi (event coordinator, Multimedia Campus), Ian Beverley and Georgina Breeze Both from (RNC) attended.
AHVITED at the IHCI Conference in Cork Ireland - September 2008
Declan McMullen, Dublin City University, gave a presentation at the main conference of IHCI 2008 in Cork Ireland on the 19th of September 2008.
The talk brought AHVITED to the attention of the HCI comunity in Ireland and provided a forum for feedback and collaboration with other irish researchers.
Project DVD filming to start soon - August 2008
Project DVD ready to go ...
One of the most important tools in sharing the fruits of our labours is the production of a project DVD. As one of the set deliverables, this is exactly what the project partners are about to embark on.
The DVD will set out to promote the work that is being carried out on the project and to demonstrate the value of the T3 as an important tool in accessing distance learning provision.
The DVD is due to be available in 2009 with all partners taking it out to promote the work of the project.
DVD on track
Filming for the project DVD has started with the first part of this deliverable being filmed at the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford on Friday 22 August 2008.
This was a successful day with the first edit of the film being currently undertaken by the Share initiative.
The second part of the DVD is due to start with filming taking place in Graz Austria on 14 and 15 October 2008. With further filming sessions in the UK to follow, this will push the project on to receiving this important dissemination tool. As previously mentioned, this should be ready in early 2009 for use at conferences, exhibitions, meetings and sectionss via this website.
AHVITED at the ICCHP Conference in Linz Austria - July 2008
Donal Fitzpatrick and Declan McMullen from Dublin city University represented the AHVITED project at this prestigious event. Donal gave a presentation in the main conference of ICCHP 2008 in Linz Austria on the 9th of July.
Information relating to AHVITED was shared widely with other delegates at the conference which fostered interesting discussions which in turn raised the profile of the AHVITED project with other european researchers.
In addtion, Declan gave a presentation at the Doctoral Consortium at the same conference on the 8th of July 2008. This enabled Declan to disseminate information relating to AHVITED to a wide audience of researchers and experts in the field of accessability.
AHVITED diseminated at the 2008 Baltic conference on E-learning
On June 17-19 2008 Monica Coppi (Multimedia Campus) participated as invited speaker to the eLearning Baltics 2008 Science Conference in Rostock (Germany).
The conference was a very important event for disseminating news about AHVITED, both during the fair and during one of the pre-conference workshops that was entirely dedicated to e-learning for visually impaired users.
Turkish deligation Visit BFI Graz 17 and 18 April 2008
The bfi Steiermark hosted guests from Turkey from the 17th – 18th of April.
Our Turkish colleagues are working with the Labour Market Service as well as the prime ministery of Turkey and were very interested in the AHVITEp project.
Meeting of project DICOMP-S.net hear presentation on AHVITED project in London - January 2008.
The bfi Steiermark coordinates the EU-Project DICOMP-S.net (Digital Competence Screenreader network).
This project is concentrating the development of a free screenreader for blind and visually impaired people. At the third transnational meeting in London we had the opportunity to give a presentation on AHVITED and its aims and objectives.

Polish delegation visited the bfi Steiermark October 2007 and received information on AHVITED
Colleagues from Poland visited the bfi Steiermark on the 25th of October 2007. They were shown around the local area and were given presentations on the range of EU funded projects that the bfi Steiermark is involved in.
Michaela Meier presented AHVITED to the deligation; outlining the projects primary aims and objectives.

AHVITED presentation at the ValorVIP conference in Graz - 20th and 21st September 2007
At the ValorVIP Conference (Valorisation of project results for blind and Visually Impaired People) taking place in Graz from the 20th till 21st of September 2007 Turkish colleagues, amongst guests from across Europe, were welcome visitors to our organisation.
We presented AHVITED; specifically incorporating our role within the project.

At the opening of the new bfi training centre for office, IT, management and logistics in Graz;
bfi-employees who are working in different EU-projects, took the opportunity to present their projects to representatives from various national authorities, labour market offices and institutions working with people with disabilities.
Michaela Meier gave a presentation on the AHVITED project.
